And you thought it was about a red suit

The government is out of control. Individual freedoms no longer exist like they used to and it seems like things are getting worse. The religious institutions are self promoting to the point they no longer know what their original purpose was, and we’ve seemingly been forgotten by God himself. Something MUST be done. At least one group is looking to overthrow the government by force, if necessary. It is time for action; a plan – a rescue! So, action is taken. Is it a new strong man? A military general? A great political leader? No – it’s a baby. A baby? We are to be rescued by a baby? Are you serious?

I would have done things differently.

God came down from heaven Himself! He didn’t come riding a war horse & he didn’t come with a conquering army. He chose to come in the most vulnerable fashion imaginable – a human baby – AND He chose to place Himself under the authority of His own creation. Why did He do this?

Since He had created us, He knew what it took to relate to us in the best possible way. So, He spent 30 years growing up just like we do, with all the aches, pains, and disappointments we grow up with. Then, He showed us a new radical way to look at things; a new way to live; and then He did something really game-changing: He took away our punishment by paying for our sins Himself! Then, incredibly, He let us finish the humiliation by dying one of the most terrible deaths imaginable. But, the story doesn’t end there. He defeated death, rose from the grave, and now directs our protection every day with the promise that, when the struggle is over, we can become His adopted sons and daughters and live in splendor with Him.

But it all began a little over 2000 years ago in a small village named Bethlehem, where a baby was born, grew up, lived, and died in such a way that we can, tonight, celebrate this unimaginable gift by giving to those we love. In reality it was He, the One we call Jesus the Christ, that gives us the ability each time this year to celebrate Him, and say “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night”!!

…and you thought it was some guy in a red suit…

Davy Crockett on Government

Stephen Moore: “One of my favorite stories of American history dates back to the 19th century when Col. Davy Crockett, who fought at the Alamo, served in Congress. In a famous incident, Congress wanted to appropriate $100,000 to the widow of a distinguished navel officer. Crockett took to the House floor and delivered his famous speech, relevant as ever: ‘We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right to so appropriate a dollar of the public money. … I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week’s pay to the object, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.’ Crockett was the only member of Congress who donated personally to the widow, while the members of Congress who pretended to be so caring and compassionate closed their wallets. It all goes to show that liberal do-gooders were as hypocritical then as they are today.”

And THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is how liberalism works. It is IMMORAL to hold a gun to someone’s head and force them to finance something you feel is important.

WHEN in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with one another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel the to the separation.

WE hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness–

 

These words, written 237 years ago, are just as true now, and for many of the same reasons, as they were in the age in which they were written. In both instances citizens were oppressed by their own government which refused to address their grievances, their so-called “representatives” refused to take the necessary steps to remedy the situation, and, indeed, much was being imposed upon them by those who didn’t represent them at all.

To that end, I hereby renounce any political affiliation with any of those in our government at all levels, and pledge to only support individuals who I deem to represent the Constitution as originally intended (e.g. exclusion of antithetical amendments like the 16th), and who, as our founders did, come the closest to pledging their “Lives,…Fortunes,…and Sacred Honor” in defense of the Constitution. Currently I can count on one hand those individuals who fit that definition, and none of them are from my home state!

If you agree, please re-post, and let’s prepare for the battle to regain control of our country next November. I am now neither Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or any other labeled-affiliation. I AM AN AMERICAN! DON’T TREAD ON ME!!

Liberal Successes???

Charles Krauthammer, who I have a lot of respect for, told Jon Stewart in a recent inter view that Republicans should admit there have been some liberal successes, and he named Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare as examples. Liberal successes? Please!

Social Security is a bad deal. If you’d taken the money you and your employer (which was also your money!) paid into SS and invested it in anything with even a modest return you’d easily be a millionaire by 50. Medicare and Medicaid are the primary drivers of the huge cost increases in health care costs, and are among the primary drivers in our national debt. Government social programs always make things worse and eventually suck up the resources from everything else. Just look at the so-called “war on poverty”. After 40+ years of confiscating trillions from working people and redistributing it to those who don’t work, we now have a hugely expensive program that has actually made the problem worse and is all but politically impossible to stop.

Here’s the thing: Common sense and history tell you socialistic programs don’t work, and facts and history will not be denied. Eventually these programs grow and either devour all available resources bringing down even the mightiest, or common sense prevails and they are dismantled, but not until after having stolen precious resources from those whose work ethic made such resources available to the thieves! It is best to never put government in the position of being enabled for thievery in the first place. Obamacare is the latest example and most likely the vehicle that will finish our trip over the cliff. We now have a $17 trillion debt and over $100 trillion in obligations with no turnaround possible given the current political climate. There’s no place else to go except over the cliff.

It’s time to wake up people! Reagan said it best. The solutions are simple but they are hard. Do we do the hard things and possibly survive, or look for complicated solutions like Obamacare and cease to exist? History says the latter and, unfortunately so does politics!

Obamacare – Designed to fail

OK, so the Republicans reverted to form and stabbed us in the back, but that was expected. I always thought it was a long shot for Obamacare to be slowed down by Republicans in Congress, so I’m not entirely surprised. However, here’s what you need to know about Obamacare: First, it was designed to fail. The “Progressives” [sic] all along have wanted a single-payor system (the government – meaning us) but they knew that wasn’t politically possible because even low-information voters would recognize that as complete socialism. So, they designed this system with metrics that were impossible to achieve. For this system to even have a fighting chance at working (which, of course, it doesn’t have in even the most optimistic outlook over time) 300 thousand were forecasted to sign up in the first month. The best numbers we have (and they’re coming from the Insurance companies because the Obama Administration won’t say) are about 56,000 max – and these people didn’t actually sign up – they were just able to get to the site and gawk at the costs. Deleware has one sign-up. ONE! Add to that a $300-million POC website that doesn’t work, and there’s no way for this to work. But, and this is a big but, even those who can get through the website don’t want the product they find because it’s too high.

So, ask yourself this question: If I can’t afford insurance now, what makes you think I can afford insurance at higher rates than before ACHA???

Bottom line: The system is DESIGNED to fail. Once it implodes, the Obama Administration and the Democraps will come out with a “plan” to fix Obamacare: Let the government do it. Presto-chango, single-payor health care done in a way that would make Adolf proud.

America, you’re being played for fools….and, apparently we’re buying it. How does it feel to be a fool, huh???
